Civil Engineering Department
Head of Department
Asst. Prof.Dr. Alaa Kharbat Shadhar

About the Department

To achieve excellence in civil engineering education and research, fostering innovation and collaboration, and producing competent graduates who contribute to sustainable development and community service.

To prepare innovative civil engineers through cutting-edge education and research, addressing societal challenges with sustainable engineering solutions.

Outcome 1
The ability to distinguish, locate, identify, formulate, and solve civil engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
Outcome 2
The ability to produce engineering designs that meet required needs in accordance with standards and specifications by applying analysis and assembling processes in the design process.
Outcome 3
The ability to create and conduct appropriate measurements and tests with quality assurance, analyze and interpret results, and apply engineering judgment to reach conclusions.
Outcome 4
The ability to communicate effectively orally with a group of people and in writing with various administrative levels for different purposes.
Outcome 5
The ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering issues and make sound judgments that consider the financial, environmental, and societal consequences on a global level.
Outcome 6
The ability to recognize the necessity of continuous self-development of professional knowledge and how to find, evaluate, compile, and correctly apply it.
Outcome 7
The ability to work effectively within teams, set objectives, plan activities, meet deadlines, and manage risks and uncertainties.

1-Preparing competent civil engineers who possess a solid foundational knowledge and a multidisciplinary

understanding to effectively address engineering problems.

2- To provide graduates with practical skills in planning, design and construction management, enabling
them to contribute to the development of infrastructure and construction projects at the local and regional levels.

3-Enhancing the leadership, cooperation and communication skills necessary for effective teamwork in

        multidisciplinary and multicultural engineering environments.

4- Encouraging lifelong learning, commitment to professional ethics, and creative thinking, enabling graduates to
adapt to professional developments and fulfill their social responsibilities in engineering practice.
5- Ensuring that graduates keep up with the latest innovations in the sector by integrating modern technologies and
sustainable practices into engineering education, and maintaining effective cooperation with professional and
academic
 institutions.
